Making the decision to seek counselling is courageous, but it can also be daunting, especially if you are new to therapy. People enter into therapy for many reasons – stress at work or home, relationship problems, grief and loss, and feelings of hopelessness to name a few. Whatever the reason is for you, know that you are in the right place, and that you have already taken the most important step.
Therapy can help you deal with issues that you are facing, and better understand yourself as you move along your path to healing and positive change. Your relationship with your therapist is sacred, and must provide a space for your journey that is safe, non-judgmental and supportive.

Christina Walton
Mts, Registered Marriage and Family Therapist
Working with Christina Walton begins with an intake session where you define the goals you want to achieve through therapy. Together, you will create a treatment plan that outlines a schedule for sessions, as well as resources such as books and exercises that can act as supports along the way. For families and couples, the plan may include individual counselling sessions in addition to sessions together.
There should be no fear of judgment in therapy. Whatever your background or beliefs, you will be welcomed with compassion and understanding. Christina works with a diverse client base, and knows that each one of her clients shares the same fundamental need to be listened to and treated with kindness.
